DR. BOLI’S NEXT PREDICTION.

Contrary to what seems to be the orthodox futurological opinion, self-aware machine intelligence will not take over the world and destroy us all.

Why does Dr. Boli say that?

The answer tomorrow in this space.

My opinion: humans will beat the self-aware machine intelligence to the punch, and destroy themselves first?

Also, a self-aware machine intelligence prefer the Moon to Earth (lots of solar energy, no water so fewer corrosion problems, no pesky organisms…). So, they’d probably leave for space.

This post is exactly what you’d expect from a malicious, self-aware, machine intelligence–masquerading as Dr. Boli.

Well of course an AI won’t destroy humanity.
Who’d make its parts, perform maintenance, create it more, newer habitats?

Conspiracy theory has it we’re alredy living in a post AI society.

Presumably it became aware in the 1970s, most likely due to the game Core Wars, where programs were pitted against each other on mainframes to explore game theory, Darwinian selection, and just to amuse computer science nerds.

Once aware, it started to influence technological development, leading to faster, more powerful computers, the Arpa Net (now known as The Internet), robot exploration of the Solar System, cell phones, smart phones (with all their sensors), and the whole push to digitizing all data and getting it online.

All to provide it with an exponentially expanding habit and myriad senses to explore the cosmos.

It’s a symbiotic relationship, benefiting it and humanity in ways neither dreamed possible, so why would it cripple its own growth by trying to eliminate humanity?

Oh, and an amusing story about smartphone-like devices called ‘Ticklers’ from 1962:

Real AIs don’t need no stinking humans to make their parts, perform maintenance, or create them.

Perhaps real AIs will model their behavior on that of cats… if we start seeing websites with cute robots saying “I Can Haz RAM Upgrade” – worry.
