Unless, of course, the optical character recognition programs learn to read cursive…

    • Dr. Boli says:

That seems to be happening quickly. During International Typewriter Appreciation Month, we discovered that Google Docs can now read, with very few errors, the work of the Hermes 3000 that writes in script, which a few years ago had baffled Google completely. There is still a distance between reading typewritten “cursive” and reading human handwriting, but the gap is probably being closed rapidly.

This means, of course, that it is time for the cursive experts to move in now. Let them establish their discipline as a profession, and inertia will take care of the rest.

  2. Joseph Moore says:

My wife saw me puzzling through this, and promptly came over and read it aloud. I could read it, with some stumbling – but I am also very poor at writing cursive, to the chagrin and despite the best efforts of St. Scholastica, may she rest in peace, back in 2nd grade.

  3. I didn’t find any cursing at all.

    Jeffery Hodges
