ACKNOWLEDGMENT.

Indigenous land acknowledgment: The Brenneman Food Service & Industrial Solvents Co., Inc., would like to acknowledge that our factory stands on the ancestral lands of the Mingo people, who stole it from the Monongahela people. We do not plan to do anything to alleviate poverty or discrimination against Native Americans, and we certainly do not intend to give back the land, but it is a well-known principle of American political philosophy that a well-intentioned statement relieves the party making it from the responsibility of contemplating any remediation.

Might at least provide a gift of industrial solvents to these Mingo People.

PBS Eons, a generally excellent Youtube channel about Paleontology and other Deep Time topics has a similar statement at the end of every video, apologizing for the manner in which fossils have been excavated without the permission of the native residents of lands around the world. Maybe somebody somewhere who (or whose ancestors) has actually been harmed by fossil hunters feels better because of this, but it seems unlikely.
