  1. heloise says:

Somehow “unsalted” seems to imply “never salted” — wouldn’t Fomerly Salted be a more truth-in-advertising name for this line?

My ad executive husband is rolling on the floor laughing. If I can make out what he’s saying … I think the juxtaposition of “advertising” and “truth” is what set him off.

  2. Commercial Food Workers Onion says:

Unless you are anticipating very low demand for the Unsalted line, six workers are likely many too few.

  3. Pk says:

    Perhaps desalted.

  4. The Shadow says:

Surely this is a job for the industrial solvents side of the firm?

    • Occasional Correspondent says:

      Along this line of thought:
Employing hounds to lick the salt off (then into a hot oven briefly for re-crisping) (the chips into the oven, not the dogs) would enable production without the need for expensive unionized human workers.  Cattle can also be very effective saltlickers.

  5. RepubAnon says:

In modern advertising – wouldn’t the solution be to greatly the amount of salt on a new line of chips, then market the current version as “reduced salt”?

  6. Belfry Bat says:

The process could be greatly improved by making the potato chips from potato shavings, instead of salt….

  7. Fred says:

Perhaps they should plant a desalination plant in the plant’s conservatory.
