It’s probably a good thing that the Inquisitors don’t play the Fightin’ Talmudic Scholars of Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh .

  2. Jared says:

The West Catholic team is far less intimidating now that they’ve been rechristened the West Catholic Consultors of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

One must concede, though, that they never were particularly fearsome under any team name. Who could ever forget the embarrassing incident in which they tried to throw opposition off balance by replacing the visiting team bench with comfy chairs?

  3. Sean says:

Surprise, fear, and ruthless efficiency are decent weapons, but one needs a good defensive line to back them up.

  4. Jared says:

An almost fanatical devotion to the Pope doesn’t hurt, either. In fact, no less an authority than Mel Kiper, Jr. considers such papal devotion one of the most important “intangibles,” and some oddsmakers have begun to incorporate relative papal devotion into their calculations when establishing the line for each game.
