A QUESTION FOR READERS.

Dr. Boli’s chauffeur called with a question, and Dr. Boli, having no ready answer himself, thought he might solicit suggestions from readers. It seems the chauffeur had stopped to fill up the Deusenberg at a station on Craig Street. As is usual on such occasions, he was using his Boli Trust card to pay for the fuel at the pump (Dr. Boli believes in keeping all his banking services in house); and, as usual, the automated payment system asked him a number of questions with “Yes” or “No” as the answers: “Process as credit?” “Would you like a receipt?” “Loyalty card?” Our man dutifully and truthfully answered every question until the LCD screen presented him with this choice:

One moment please

»Yes

»No

The question is this: How should he answer? He cannot complete the transaction until we make a decision. There is a certain urgency to the situation, as the man has been standing in front of the pump for an hour now, and he seems to be bellowing something into the telephone, which Dr. Boli has laid on the desk to write this short article. On the other hand, we should not be in too much of a hurry, as it is always good to give the staff opportunities to develop the virtue of patience.
