    I’ve heard about this occurring with computerized pricing: one site’s computer prices its item a dollar higher than the other site. The other site’s computer notices, and increases its price to be one dollar higher than the other site’s listing for that item. Around and around the infinite loop goes…

    Or it could be the computers want us to be more careful about how we spend our money (on things other than computer component upgrades, of course…)
