ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY.

On this day in 1972, the last human beings to visit the moon returned to earth. Thus the Space Age ended, history began its long slide downhill from its peak, and the answer to all statements beginning “We can put a man on the moon, but…” became, “Well, actually, we can’t.”

Its sad but that’s the way it goes. Tintin went on to other adventures and professor Calculus went on to other inventions like Calca-color and there’s just been too many Bordurian nationals sabotaging the Syldavian moon program!

It’s not that we “couldn’t” go up there again, it’s that no one else wants to go. Yes, some say they want to visit the moon, but inevitably they get cold feet before the launch and the mission is scrapped, very expensive and wasteful.
