ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY.

On this day in 1886, Anita Loos and Ludwig Wittgenstein were born, striking a blow against the pseudoscience of astrology from which it would never fully recover.

  1. Maypo says:

Oh, I don’t know. Anita was quite the wit and Ludwig also played fast and loose in the language game.

  2. John Salmon says:

Had Loos and Wittgenstein been raised in nearly identical environments the astrological affinities would’ve held sway, and they would’ve been identical in dress and habit, though Loos would’ve preferred Duke Ellington while Wittengenstein would’ve gone for Count Basie.

    Astrology has its limits.
