A PERTINENT QUESTION.

Smith Corona DeVille 80

Transcribed below. The typewriter is a Smith Corona DeVille 80, probably made in the 1980s. Since Smith Corona produced a bewildering variety of not-quite-identical electronic typewriters, this is the only unit of its model in the Typewriter Database so far.

Maybe Cadillac sold them the DeVille name for a buck two-fifty. Not to be confused with the famous rapper Koop Devil.

By an odd coincidence, two-fifty was about the price we paid for the typewriter at the thrift store. To be more specific, $2.68, including tax. It was probably overpriced.
