ASK DR. BOLI.

Dear Dr. Boli: Everywhere I look, I keep reading about the dangers of “blue light” from computer monitors, phone screens, and televisions. What’s so bad about blue light? —Sincerely, A Man Who’s Colorblind Anyway.

Dear Sir: Public-health experts worry that, if you are constantly exposed to blue light, you will become a Blue Light Special. And look what happened to Kmart.

It’s shocking that Dr. Boli did not discuss Labatt’s version of flavorless, characterless low-calorie lager. Or is IC Light the only tipple found in the Doctor’s environs?

    • Dr. Boli says:

Dr. Boli has a strong preference for stouts and porters that are black as midnight, so “light” beers tend not to stick in his mind. He can certainly see how the one you describe might be a danger to public mental health, if not directly to physical health; but he will have to take your word for its lack of character. It is probably in violation of some local law to admit this, but he has never tasted IC Light, either.

What is IC Light? Don’t recall ever seeing on the shelves of my local establishments. Perhaps our town has an ordinance restricting its distribution because of the misspelling of “Lite.”
