From DR. BOLI’S ANIMAL ALPHABET.

X for the Xiphias, noblest of fishes,
Who pretty much gets his own way when he wishes.
He hasn’t got fingers—he hasn’t got toes—
But one thing he has is a sword for a nose.

Y for the Yak,
Who grew hair on his back
Just as long as you please
Till it covered his knees.

Z for the Zebu, who played on his Zither
And made the wild Zebras dance hither and thither,
While Zinnias bloomed on the Zambian plain,
And the sun reached its Zenith in pouring-down rain.
