    In early October 1813, shortly following the Battle of Lake Erie, the British Major-General Henry Procter withdrew his forces from Detroit, falling back to a more defensible position in front of William Henry Harrison’s advancing forces. Curiously, both the Canadians and the Americans claim the outcome as a victory.
