AN EPIGRAM.

Smith-Corona Sterling keyboard

An Epigram;

or,

An Unkind Criticism of a Modern Blank-Verse Poet.

The poets of the past gaze down as K——— plods and plods.
“Shall I desist?” he says at last, and even Homer nods.

    Okay, I give up, what poet (“poet”) named K followed by seven letters is the feckless, undesisting blank versifier?

    (Is an undesisting poet the same as a sisting poet?  Is the opposite of “cease and desist” “continue and sist”?)

      Because Dr. Boli is kind even in his unkindness, he changed the initial. Wild horses with flat-blade screwdrivers couldn’t pry the real initial out of him, but now you know that there are only twenty-five possibilities.
