It takes a special kind of shepherd to tend the famous iron sheep of the Monongahela Valley. A shepherd with grit and determination. A shepherd with heart and compassion. A shepherd with skin like Naugahyde. It’s worth treating those shepherds well. That’s why you won’t find New Eagle brand Steel Wool in the dollar store or the bargain bin. But that’s also why you know it’s worth that little bit extra you pay for every New Eagle pad you buy. Because New Eagle brand Steel Wool is the one steel wool that comes from the happiest and healthiest iron sheep in the valley.

  1. D. Smolken says:

The shepherd’s job is made somewhat easier by the fact that wolves and even lions pose no threat to his flock.

  2. Occasional Correspondent says:

The shepherd would be nothing without his sheep dog Magneto.

  3. heloise says:

This breed of sheep is known to bleat with high irony content.

  4. von Hindenburg says:

My dad and I used to do some shearing on weekends when I was in high school. We actually did one flock near New Eagle for a guy who was a big game hunter. After we finished, he took us through the trophy room in his house to show off his bear, water buffalo, elk, gazelle, etc. In one corner, though, was what appeared to be a regular ram, though with an admittedly-impressive set of horns. When my dad asked about it he said:

“Yeah, I couldn’t get him to go back in the barn, so I shot him.”

When all you have is a hammer, all problems do look like nails.
